BE A LEADER YOUR FOLLOWERS WILL FOLLOW

REMAIN BLESSED AS YOU TAKE YOUR TIME TO STUDY THE WORD OF GOD AMEN.

SATURDAY 26TH MARCH

BE A LEADER YOUR FOLLOWERS WILL FOLLOW
TEXT 1 KING 12:1-6
Key verse: 1Chronicles 29: 9 "Then the people rejoiced, for that, they offered willingly because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the Lord: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy."
In every aspect, you are both a leader and a follower. That you are a leader means you have followers. As a result, you need to win the hearts of your followers. Our scriptural text presents the appeal of Jeroboam the son of Nebat and his people to king Rehoboam to lighten the yoke Solomon his father placed on their necks. They had suffered under Solomon’s reign and wanted the new administration to grant them relief.  Rehoboam was advised by the elders not to follow the leadership pattern of his father who was a backslider in his later reign. As for you, only seek to follow the leadership pattern approved by the word of God and lead by the Holy Spirit. Take a better decision if your predecessor did not do well. Now, as a leader in HOREMOW, can you lead better than the leaders many suffered under before?  It was not God but Solomon that laid the burdens on them. The people could not see righteousness in him any longer.  When the wicked are on the throne, the people mourn. (Proverbs 29:2)
Ensure you promote wilful service: 1 Kings 12:4. There should be provision for the will of the people. The people can willingly serve you if their just will is considered. Employ the methods that will involve the people's willingness to serve you. Jesus was neither dragging His disciples nor people to follow Him.
1 Chronicle 29: 9 "Then the people rejoiced, for that, they offered willingly because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the Lord: and David the King also rejoiced with great joy.
If the people will serve you willingly, both you and they will rejoice. Be careful that you do not affect the eternity of people by your leadership style. If you offend them you will make their services unacceptable to God because God loves willing hearted service. If you want the heart of your people, promote wilful service. You don't use force to open your door. Force comes only when the door is becoming difficult to open. Service to God is meant for reward. If they do it willingly, they will receive a reward. But if forced, they will lose the reward.
Seek counsel in leadership: 1 Kings 12: 5; Rehoboam did well by giving room for thoughts and consultation. He that hasteneth with his feet sinneth (Proverbs 19: 2). It is wisdom; do not be in haste to take action. First, take time to think over matters.
Thought for today: You are not leading well if the people are not following you.

Every Word Of God For Daily Living For taking your time to study remain blessed July Tuesday 9th TOPIC: WE ARE IN THE TWILIGHT HOUR OF RAPTURE TEXT: Ephesians 5:26-27 KEY VERSE: Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. Seeing the traces of the features of the next dispensation in this present dispensation, you should know that you are in the twilight hour. What is a twilight hour? A twilight hour is that hour of the day that you begin to see the traces of the night while it is still daylight (probably 7:00pm to 7:30pm). It is not completely dark, yet it is not complete bright either. While it is still day, you are seeing the traces of the night. A twilight hour is the hour when you are still in this dispensation but you are already seeing traces of the next. The twilight hour is the time that our Lord Jesus Christ was born and even though He came with the New Test...
