TOPIC:  EVANGELISM AND CONVERSION

TEXT: ACTS 8:4-30, 13:6-12

KEY VERSE: “Therefore they that were scattered abroad went everywhere preaching the word” Acts 8:4.

Evangelism was the main duty of Jesus when He came to the earth and it is His great commission to His disciples. Let’s remember those souls under satanic captivity and oppression in our evangelism. Those delivered should testify of Jesus salvation to others. 

The recipients of God’s mercy should be followed up by evangelism. Those who have received the salvation and blessings of God should submit their lives to the Saviour. The Samaritan woman was of another opinion as far as the worship of God was concerned. 

Jesus opened up a discussion with the Samaritan woman, He flashed the mirror of God’s word at her and the Spirit of God convicted her of her sin. He presented Himself to her as the Christ and she believed immediately and led the city to Jesus. We should seek to present the truth to those of different convictions and contrary opinions. 

The Ethiopian eunuch was a zealous worshipper of God who did not know the Saviour Jesus Christ. He read the scripture without understanding. The spirit of God directed Philip to him. His heart was opened to the truth. Philip ministered to him and he became gloriously saved and was baptized.

There are so many unsaved worshippers in various churches who desire to know the truth required for their salvation. We must seek them out and preach the true way of salvation in Christ to them. Every man will give an account of himself to God. Every man that has not been saved by Christ is ruled by sin. Great men are great victims of sin and Satan. A few of them desire to be saved, seek them out and save them. 

There are those who have been humbled by the circumstances of life. Help them out with the gospel. Luke was a good writer and used letter writing for the evangelism and follow-up of Theophilus. Apart from letter writing, we have many gospel materials and avenues to win converts and follow them up: Areassettes, CDs, DVDs, Videos, books, literature, telephone calls etc.
