TOPIC: DO NOT PLAY THE VIRGIN IN A MARITAL RELATIONSHIP
TEXT: 1Corinthians 7:1-5
KEY VERSE: Proverbs 5:19 Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.
Proverbs 24:3 Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established. The sexual relationship between a believer and his or her spouse must be treated with scriptural obedience and wisdom. Spouses must seek to satisfy each other sexually so that they do not open the door to the devil to frustrate their Christian life and ministry. Let them not behave as if there is any virtue in being separate from each other or as if they are in a state of celibacy. Married couples should know that fasting does not require cessation of marital sex, except it is to be engaged in for many days. In case one desires to engage in long fasting, mutual discussion and agreement is required. Appropriate family planning method should be adopted to allow for the sexual relationship to continue and to take place as often as desired. Soft and gentle words are required to explain inability to play sexual roles in times of tiredness, indisposition, sickness or genuine difficulties.
The sexual life of the marriage must be sufficiently covered by prayer to keep the devil off from it. The blessing of the Lord should be sought upon it so that it may bless the marriage with pleasures. Patience and prayers are required over some husbands in this area. Show true love in the way you care for the feelings and partake in the sex emotions of your partner in marriage. Many marriages have hit the rocks on account of sex. Although this may not be publicly disclosed, it is sometimes an underlining factor in strained marital relationships. You must not give the devil a hold in your marriage. God has brought you together to satisfy your sexual desires and to derive pleasure from your conjugal relationship. Sexual pleasure and fidelity are some of the reasons of going into marriage. 1Corintians 7:2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. To deliberately deny your spouse of sexual pleasure is an act of wickedness. In the first instance, you are denying him or her his/her legitimate right. Secondly, you have become a stumbling block to his or her Christian life because it increases the chances of the dissatisfied spouse seeking sexual pleasure outside the matrimonial home. Be wise in this matter so that you don’t offend God.
Thought for the day: Do not give the devil a hold in your marriage.
Song for the day: I am married to Jesus; Satan leave me alone (2x) my husband is coming to...
Bible reading for the day:
Exodus 25-26; Matthew 21:1-22
