HOLINESS REVIVAL MOVEMENT WORLDWIDE HOREMOW
DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY PASTOR PAUL RIKA INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR.
DATE: MONDAY AUGUST 24, 2026.
TOPIC:THE LIFESTYLE OF A CHRISTIAN WORKER (PART 1)
TEXT: 2 CORINTHIANS 6:1-10
1. We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
2. (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, And in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.).
3. Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:
4. But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,
5. In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings;
6. By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned,
7. By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,
8. By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;
9. As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;
10. As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.
KEY VERSE: 1 CORINTHIANS 3:9-10. For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building. According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereupon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon
After salvation, it is expected that a believer should engage in the services of the Lord. You are saved to serve but your services must be rendered in righteousness. That he would grant unto us, that we, being delivered out of the hand of our enemies, might serve him without fear, In holiness and righteousness before Him, all the days of our life (Luke 1:74, 75).
The first thing that Jesus Christ did when He started His ministry was to gather disciples around Himself. A disciple is an active follower of someone or a believer in a system. As He preached the gospel and won the souls, He first told them to follow Him and thereafter, He would make them fishers of men (Mathew 4:18-20).
Following Jesus to learn His way of life was recommended before the followers would have the privilege to become His servants. The lifestyle of a Christian worker, therefore should be an embodiment of the way Jesus Christ lived His life on the earth in relationship with the Father and with man as documented in the Bible.
Here is an enumeration of the way He lived. It is recommended for every heaven-bound Christian worker.
1. He always pleased the Father (John 8:29). If you must please God, avoid living in the flesh. They that are in the flesh cannot please God. Your flesh should not rule over you; let your spirit do. Run away from defilement of your body as Joseph did. Believe God for everything; for without faith, it is impossible to please God.
Enoch who lived by faith had a testimony of Divine translation into heaven. The Bible recorded that for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God (Hebrews 11:5). You can see, the emphasis has been on pleasing God; not man. Your eye-service is for men-pleasing. God is against it (Ephesians 6:5-6; Colossians 3:22).
Thought For The Day: Genuine followership is what gives value to servant hood.
Song For The Day: Let the beauty of Jesus be seen in me.
Bible reading for the day: Ezekiel 1-4
