The Godly Leader Must Not Condone Sin
Tuesday 30th December
Text: 1 Timothy 5: 24-25
Key verse: Psalm 101: 8; I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the LORD.
If we apply judgment, we will reduce sinners and hypocrites in the church. If we refuse to give opportunity for service to people who have not complied with divine standard, we will bring evil to minimum. To allow people who are badly dressed to preach and sing, is to corrupt the altar. They shall multiply because other women will say, “So they can allow that?” They will go to the tailor to worsen their own, because the woman’s own was not proper and you said nothing about it. Others will copy her. A little leaven has leavened the whole lump. As the temple of God, our hearts and body should be kept pure from sin and evil so also the church of God; much more the workers in the Lord`s house.
The minister must be determined to purge the ministry or the church from evil and evil men. The king purposed to do this without delay. You as a leader disciplining the church to bring the church to order. All things must be done decently and in order. A soldier has captains to train him and generals over them that give commands. They have commanders that train them. This training involves corporal discipline. They pass them through rough places. All these they do to give them the toughness of a soldier. The godly leader must not condone sin nor adapt himself to the life and character of wicked members and workers under his ministry. Do it early.
You have accepted holiness, go and make the church holy. You may say but I am not the general overseer. Even if the general overseer is Satan, that church is in your hand and he has lost the control of that church because darkness cannot withstand light. Go and shine in that church. Before they persecute you some people would have been redeemed. That was what Paul the apostle did in his ministry. He would enter the synagogue of the Jews and declare the truth. They would say, “No we do not want Jesus.” Others would say, “We want Jesus.” He would carry those who wanted Jesus to form the church. Do so also in your church. Do not sit down aimlessly saying, “My general overseer said I should not preach against earring.”
