Money Appeals To The Heart For More Of It
Saturday 13th December
Text: 1 Timothy 6: 6-9
Key verse: Ecclesiastes 5:10 He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.
Money appeals to the heart for more of it. It makes you ‘want to have more.’ The more you have it, the more you would want to have it. This is so to those who have many desires, plans, project, and many needs. This is the reason even the rich people are not resting. The richest man in America is still into great businesses, because he wants more money. He is not looking for it for food, nor for raiment. Many people look for money to accumulate it because of the love of it, and because they want to make a name that they are the richest, or among the rich people. Believers should look for money for legitimate needs and for the glory of the Lord. To accumulate money for the love of it or the pride of it, is dangerous to eternal life,
Money wants you to have more. This is responsible for the agitations against the government and the authorities of many organizations. It is wrong to underpay those working for you, such that their salary cannot solve their essential needs, making them to be tempted to steal to complement for their upkeep,
However, you should not go ahead to contend for money using ungodly ways in the spirit of the love of money. As much as is possible, be content with your wages, as John the Baptist answered those that enquired of him. Because of the spirit of the love of money, you need more money but will not follow the legitimate way or may not involve yourself in hard work, but you use the wisdom of Satan to acquire it as you desire, through fraudulent business, lying tongue, cheating, evil investments, quick-gains business, as Bitcoins, and cryptocurrencies. This will surely cause ruins in your life. Some will even join secret societies, witchcraft, and occultism, just to get money. The love of money is the root of all evil, by which the souls of men are ruined in this life and eternally destroyed in hell fire.
