The Lord’s Supper

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study.

The Lord’s Supper

Friday 25th July

Text: Luke 22: 17-20
Key verse: 1 Corinthians 11: 26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till He come.
The Lord Jesus Christ instituted the Lord's super and commanded that His disciples should keep on observing it until He returns. The bread represented His body that was offered on the cross for the salvation of humanity. The cup represented His blood that was shed for the forgiveness of sins of all who believe on Him. Immediately after the Pentecost, when the believers began to assemble for worship, the church began the observance of the Lord's super. This was observed daily as their meeting was daily. Later we saw that in the church at Ephesus the Lord's super was observed weekly, in the first day of the week when the brethren assembled for worship. In his letter to the Corinthian Church, Paul told them the revelation Jesus gave to him directly concerning the observance of the Lord's Supper
A: Jesus celebrated it with His disciples. B: Every believer should partake of it. C: The purpose is to keep alive in our hearts the memory of the sacrificial death of Christ. D: The body of Christ, the local church, should observe this rite often. E: The often observance of this rite announces the sacrificial death of Jesus to all in the assembly. F: The Lord's Supper should be observed continually until He comes. G: Sinners and backsliders are not to partake in the Lord's Supper. H: Self-examination is required of those who desire to partake of this rite. They must have right-standing with God. I; Those who eat the Lord's Supper in sin will suffer divine judgment.
Although the time interval between one observance and the other is not fixed in Paul's letter to the Corinthians, the ceremony is to be observed often, regularly, frequently. Those Assemblies that do not observe the Lord's Supper at all or do so once in a long while have not submitted themselves to this clear scriptural instruction. Believers who live their Christian life without partaking of the Lord's Supper along with other members of the body of Christ are not totally submissive to the word of God. There is surely spiritual consequence on both the local church and the individual believer who disobeys this scriptural injunction.
Thought for the day: Every true believer should take the Lord's Supper regularly.
Song for the day: We are heirs of the Father
Bible reading for the day: Isaiah 38-40

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
For taking your time to study remain blessed. FACTS TO BE UNDERSTOOD ON REVELATION MESSAGES WEDNESDAY JANUARY 11 TEXT: NUMBERS 12: 4-8. Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
