PRICILIA’S SACRIFICE TO THE GOSPEL WORK

REMAIN BLESSED AS YOU TAKE YOUR TIME TO STUDY THE WORD OF GOD AMEN.

DATE: TUESDAY 11TH JANUARY

TOPIC: PRICILIA’S SACRIFICE TO THE GOSPEL WORK

TEXT: ROMANS 16:3-4

KEY VERSE: 1 Corinthians 16:19 “The church of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.”

Priscilla listened to Paul and did what he instructed her to do. She sacrificed her house for the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to reach out to others.

There is a blessed reward when you obey and humble yourself to true and genuine ministers of the gospel. Priscilla understood this secret of the gospel without pretending as the Pharisees do.

The Pharisees built the graves of the prophets and painted them white as a way to show respect but inwardly they practised deceit. They claim that if it were their days they would not have killed the prophets of Israel as did their fathers, but would have treated them nicely and with respect.

By character, Pharisees are usually self-righteous and pretentious people. Jesus examined their hearts and pronounced woe on them. The Pharisees on several occasions attempted to kill Jesus, the greatest of all prophets.

Nonetheless, Aquila and Priscilla remain perfect examples of obedient children of God. They demonstrated humility and supported the work of God.

Romans 16:3-4

3 Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus:

4 Who have for my life laid down their necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles.

Paul on behalf of Priscilla and Aquila extended a special salutation to the church of Corinth in an expression of the friendly role they played by accommodating the church in their house for the salvation of souls.

Paul counted Priscilla and Aquila as worthy, righteous and faithful spouses in their services to the gospel work. He counted them worthy by mentioning their names in the Bible. Priscilla and Aquila were co-workers with Paul and he expressed his gratitude for their commitment.

Several scriptures mention Priscilla’s name in Paul’s letters due to her total commitment to the gospel work. Priscilla and Aquila accompanied Paul to Ephesus for the gospel assignment. They were well mentored by Paul, the Apostle.

Thought for the day: There is a blessed reward when you obey and humble yourself to true and genuine ministers of the gospel.

Song for the day: Lord you are so good; Lord you are so kind…

Bible reading for the day: Genesis 27-28; Matthew 9:18-38.

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
For taking your time to study remain blessed. January Saturday 18th TOPIC: HOW TO ATTAIN BIBLE HOLINESS TEXT: Romans 6:20-23 KEY VERSE: Romans 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. Besides the essential knowledge of the holy life of a Christian, it is good to understand the manner and process of becoming holy before God. Holiness of life is a life that has overcome sin through the saving power of Jesus Christ. Romans 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. It is a life that does not commit sin. 1John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for His seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. Getting this experience requires four things: 1. Know that apart from holiness, there is no alternative lifestyle for heaven. Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holin...
