God’s Extra Effort In Restoring The Backslider 

Tuesday 11th November 

TEXT: Jeremiah 3: 15 – 17
Key verse: Ezekiel 33: 11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel. 
Receive the word that will change you, restore you, reestablish you and give you back the hope of eternal life. Come back! The Lord is pleading. Can you see the effort of God in your life? And can you see madness in your life; resisting every effort God is making. God is calling you. Retrace your ways. Follow the good old way. Go and confess those things, do not keep them. Your problem is, you want to serve God but you have not confessed your sins openly because of shame, fear and  pride which shall be dissolved in hell. That is where your problem is. Yes, you want to be free; good. You are actually struggling but you have refused to confess. 
He said, go and ask for the good old ways. It is in the way of confession and restitution that you will find salvation. You may say, “No. it is too much. I do not want people to know that I committed immorality. I do not want my wife to hear because I have shown my wife that I am a saint; that God gave me a revelation and I saw my name written in the Book of Life with the blood of Jesus Christ. How will I now confess my adultery?” You are harming yourself by rejecting God’s suggestion and counsel. God is pleading with you because He knows you are going to hell. He wants to stop it because sin is taking you to hell. For He says, if your sin rests upon you and you pine away, how shall you live? Is it not sin that drove away Satan from heaven? Will you die in sin and go to heaven? Turn away from your sin. God is pleading with you.

The Word Of God: The foundation of the faith of the just, is the word of God.  The word of God is the production room of the faith which the just exercises.
