Falling Down Under Power In Public Ministry In Scripture

Text: Leviticus 9:23, 24

Sunday 4th May

Key verse: To the law and to the testimony, if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. Isaiah 8:20
A careful examination shows that no prophet or apostle in public ministry witnessed the power of God striking down anyone in the audience. Let us consider the following case in the Old Testament. In today’s text, the people were not slain by the anointing in Aaron or Moses. They saw the glory of God and the fire that came from His presence. They shouted in praise of Jehovah and fell in prostration in His worship. This is a natural reaction human beings can manifest at such wonderful display of God's presence and glory. The scene is different from the falling under anointing as we see today.
As seen in the scriptures, the worshippers of God in the Old Testament time witnessed great presence of God in many of their solemn assemblies, yet there is no record of anyone who fell down by the power of God during public worship of God's people. Except the above case, the other cases of falling down in prostration due to divine presence was in individual dealing with God, outside public worship. Our God is a God of knowledge, understanding and wisdom, who commands that all things be done decently and in order.
We see two cases of falling down by divine power in the ministry of apostle Peter. From Acts 5:1-10, we can say that Ananias and Saphira fell or were slain by the power of God under the ministry of Peter, but their fall was not in excitement or in display of God's power in Peter. Their fall was the fall of death occasioned by divine judgment. No worshipper would like this kind of fall to happen to him. No minister would like to multiply this kind of fall in his ministry.
Someone fell in the ministry of Paul the apostle as seen in Acts 20:7-12. This young man clearly was not slain by anointing in Paul, neither did he fall under the power of God. The scripture states clearly that he was sleeping during the message and fell unconsciously. Thanks to God, the miracle happened! He was restored to life through faith and prayer.
Thought For The Day: God is a God of knowledge, understanding and wisdom.

Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All

God's blessing shall be following you continually for taking the time to study. Them That Sin, Rebuke Before All   Monday 24th March Text: 1 Timothy 5: 19-22 Key verse: Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. 1 Timothy 5:20 God wants you to avoid doing evil while saying you want to go to heaven. You may be a member of a worldly church and be saying, “It is my tribal church; if I leave them, they will be angry. I do not want them to be angry.” Is it God you want to make angry by your compromise? You will see the anger of God indeed. It is through the word that you perfect the people, and as a result, the Bible says, “Thou shalt not suffer sin upon your brother. Thou shall reprove him.” Your brother or sister has done a bad thing, and you do not bother. You leave them in their sins. They may do the same to other people. The Lord says, “Correct them.” Do not allow sin to be in them because sin will take them to hell. The Bible says, “Them that sin, rebuke befo...
For taking your time to study remain blessed. FACTS TO BE UNDERSTOOD ON REVELATION MESSAGES WEDNESDAY JANUARY 11 TEXT: NUMBERS 12: 4-8. Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Except God gives the grace of interpretation to ...
