TOPIC: LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE FOR ALL TO SEE

TEXT: Ephesians 5:8-11

Key verse: Luke 3:8 Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to saywithin yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able ofthese stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

When you have a divine encounter with Jesus, you don't need to be told this is Jesus. His majesty, radiance and glory will reveal Him. When Saul of Tarsus encountered Jesus on the way to Damascus, he saw a bright light from
heaven shine around him and heard a voice speak to him. Although he asked to know who specifically was speaking to him, he already knew he was dealing with a higher power for he referred to Him as Lord. “Who art thou Lord?” he asked.
King Nebuchadnezzar had boasted nobody could be save from His hand, but when the King of kings appeared with the three Hebrew boys in the fire, it was a great and unique encounter.

He was astonished and said, “Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.” Without anybody telling him, he recognized the Son of God. It is the same with the children of God. Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Some people go about with different titles claiming to be one thing or the other in the church but they are a bad example of Christianity. The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of them. Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

It is not what you call yourself that matters but who you are. The Lord knoweth them that are his. You don't need to announce to people that you are a pastor or that you are born again. You are surrounded by a crowd of witnesses. They are watching your life and taking note. The early believers did not call themselves Christians. People who observed their lives became convinced that they were true followers of Christ and called them Christians. Act 11:26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

Thought for the day: Let your life reveal your true identity in Christ.

Song for the day: Will you be ready when Jesus comes?

Bible reading for the day:
1Kings 8-9; Luke 23:39-56

August Tuesday 27th TOPIC: CORRECT WATER BAPTISM TEXT: Mark 16:15-16 KEY VERSE: Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. The believer requires water baptism. The baptism that Jesus commanded is in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. It is done by immersion in water because the three Persons are One. In Acts of the Apostles, the people were baptizing in the name of Jesus. They used the phrase “in the name of Jesus” to indicate that the baptism was carried out as authorized by Jesus, and the baptism authorized by Jesus is that which is done in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. It is not to say that they dip people in water and say, “I baptize you in the name of Jesus.” The name of Jesus cannot represent the Godhead. The Father is not Jesus, the Holy Spirit is not Jesus, Jesus is God who be

April Monday 27th TOPIC: TESTIMONY OF RESTITUTION OF FALSIFIED RECORDS by Sis Bosede Ogwurike TEXT: 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 KEY VERSE: Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. After accepting the Lord Jesus as my Lord and personal Saviour as a young girl I so much enjoyed the Lord, but at a particular time in my life I entangled myself with so many sins: fornication, abortions, misconduct in two of my undergraduate examination papers, falsification of age, falsification of results in my undergraduate research project and other sins that later required restitution. This created a big vacuum in my life. I no longer enjoyed the presence of God as before and sometimes when I prayed for restoration and revival, I would hear a voice clearly in my spirit saying, “Go and report yourself.” This I did not
