PERSONAL EVANGELISM TUESDAY MARCH 20
TEXT: MATTHEW 9:35-38
Key verse: “Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest” Matthew 9:38.
Personal evangelism is the art of person-to-person sharing of the gospel of Christ with sinners, with the aim of leading them to salvation. The primary purpose of Christ’s coming into the world was to die for the salvation of man. He came to seek and to save the lost. He could not allow any other to becloud His vision of saving the lost. He used different approaches to reach different people; With Nicodemus, Christ used a direct approach: “Ye must be born again.”With the Samaritan woman, He used an indirect approach: “Give me to drink.”With the woman caught in adultery, He used a situational approach. Jesus reached out to His twelve disciples whom He called apostles through personal evangelism. No other business should thrill the heart of a believer than personal evangelism. Winning the lost is a task that must be done; failure to carry it out carries great consequences. The implication of neglecting personal evangelism includes; The loss and waste of ripened harvest, Requirement of sinners’ blood from negligent soul winners, Christ being ashamed of Christians that neglect to witness, Loss of soul winners’ reward, Spiritual decline and stunted growth of the local churches and Delay in answer to prayers. The Lord Jesus Christ was not only involved in personal evangelism but also sent out His disciples to do so. It is an obligation for every believer to personally bear witness of Christ, the task is urgent in view of; Shortness of time, The brevity of life, Reality of eternal judgment of the lost, The need for believers to be free from the blood of all men. Concern for our loved ones, members of our families, tribesmen, friends, co-workers and neighbours requires us to witness to them. The vastness of the harvest field that is waiting for labourers should compel us to assist before they are wasted. Personal evangelism requires individual commitment. Our Lord Jesus Christ said, I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work, John 9:4. Believers must be determined to preach to all men till the end of their lives on earth. In spite of trials, hardship and afflictions, a soul winner must never give up. Every spiritual effort must be made in order to sustain the zeal and fire for personal evangelism.
Thought for the day: Commitment is an act of devoting to a given cause until the goal is achieved.
Song for the day: I will make you fishers of men, fishers of men, fishers of men…
Bible reading for the day:
Joshua 1 - 3 ; Luke 1:57-80

August Tuesday 27th TOPIC: CORRECT WATER BAPTISM TEXT: Mark 16:15-16 KEY VERSE: Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. The believer requires water baptism. The baptism that Jesus commanded is in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. It is done by immersion in water because the three Persons are One. In Acts of the Apostles, the people were baptizing in the name of Jesus. They used the phrase “in the name of Jesus” to indicate that the baptism was carried out as authorized by Jesus, and the baptism authorized by Jesus is that which is done in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. It is not to say that they dip people in water and say, “I baptize you in the name of Jesus.” The name of Jesus cannot represent the Godhead. The Father is not Jesus, the Holy Spirit is not Jesus, Jesus is God who be

April Monday 27th TOPIC: TESTIMONY OF RESTITUTION OF FALSIFIED RECORDS by Sis Bosede Ogwurike TEXT: 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 KEY VERSE: Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. After accepting the Lord Jesus as my Lord and personal Saviour as a young girl I so much enjoyed the Lord, but at a particular time in my life I entangled myself with so many sins: fornication, abortions, misconduct in two of my undergraduate examination papers, falsification of age, falsification of results in my undergraduate research project and other sins that later required restitution. This created a big vacuum in my life. I no longer enjoyed the presence of God as before and sometimes when I prayed for restoration and revival, I would hear a voice clearly in my spirit saying, “Go and report yourself.” This I did not
