BE A THANKFUL WORSHIPPER THURSDAY MARCH 22
TEXT: LUKE 17:11-19
Key verse: “And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine?” Luke 17:17.

It is a commonly observed practice for men to display ingratitude over kindness received in life. This is because of their impure hearts and ignorance of life. On the contrary, God commands true Christians to be thankful to Him and to their fellow men for any kindness they receive in word and in deeds. We shall consider two contrasting cases in scripture where men manifested ingratitude or gratitude according to their nature. It is evil to respond with wickedness to an act of pure love! Traits of ingratitude may manifest as absence of true love, impure minds, pride, suspicion and misinterpretation of deeds done in love and kindness. Ten lepers pleaded with Jesus to heal them. Jesus told them to go and show themselves to the priest. On the way they were healed. One returned to give thanks. The others did not. Jesus wondered at their ingratitude. What was responsible for this? They had unthankful hearts due to the presence of sin. May be they were unthankful by their tradition of pride, of having right to healings as Israelites. They were more interested in their health than the healer. Develop the heart of thankfulness always. In 2Kings 4:8-17, the Shunamite woman showed great kindness to Prophet Elisha. Her love and care moved him to express thanksgiving from his heart. He called the woman to show his gratitude. He felt to acknowledge her good spirit and to make her know that he was reasonable enough to appreciate her for such kindness. He knew what good effect thanksgiving will have in the life of the woman. Elisha would feel guilty, if he did nothing to appreciate for her kindness. Elisha employed the power of God in his appreciation and she received her desired miracle. Pray for those that show you kindness. One of the ten lepers healed by Jesus returned to give thanks and to glorify God. He remembered the trauma of leprosy, the mercy he had received by God and the reality of the healing. He considered the restoration to his health, his usefulness to the human society and among others. He felt the Lord must be thanked and God be glorified. Let us always be thankful to God for all things and to be thankful to one another for acts of love and kindness that are being shown among us. Lord we are grateful, be glorified.

Thought for the day: Thank God today for all He has done for you and through others.
Song for the day: We are grateful oh Lord 2x for all you have done for us…

August Tuesday 27th TOPIC: CORRECT WATER BAPTISM TEXT: Mark 16:15-16 KEY VERSE: Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. The believer requires water baptism. The baptism that Jesus commanded is in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. It is done by immersion in water because the three Persons are One. In Acts of the Apostles, the people were baptizing in the name of Jesus. They used the phrase “in the name of Jesus” to indicate that the baptism was carried out as authorized by Jesus, and the baptism authorized by Jesus is that which is done in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. It is not to say that they dip people in water and say, “I baptize you in the name of Jesus.” The name of Jesus cannot represent the Godhead. The Father is not Jesus, the Holy Spirit is not Jesus, Jesus is God who be

April Monday 27th TOPIC: TESTIMONY OF RESTITUTION OF FALSIFIED RECORDS by Sis Bosede Ogwurike TEXT: 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 KEY VERSE: Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. After accepting the Lord Jesus as my Lord and personal Saviour as a young girl I so much enjoyed the Lord, but at a particular time in my life I entangled myself with so many sins: fornication, abortions, misconduct in two of my undergraduate examination papers, falsification of age, falsification of results in my undergraduate research project and other sins that later required restitution. This created a big vacuum in my life. I no longer enjoyed the presence of God as before and sometimes when I prayed for restoration and revival, I would hear a voice clearly in my spirit saying, “Go and report yourself.” This I did not
