CARE AND HELP AMONG BRETHREN
MONDAY MARCH 19
TEXT: ACTS 11:28-30
Key verse: “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith” Galatians 6:10.
Believers are exhorted to do good to all men in the world. Through our good works and benevolence many sinners and religious men and women will be attracted to Jesus and gospel doors will be opened for us in their lives. In this same way believing wives are instructed to be obedient and kind to their unbelieving husbands. However, the apostle showed that more attention should be given to the poor and needy among the saints. Be concerned for the less privileged brethren. Strengthen them as much as you can that they may enjoy Jesus as you do. Provide them money, wears, food, sponsorship, and medical care. Marry for them if you can. Be willing that God may use you to fulfill His promise or promises in their lives. The early church brethren provided for the poor and needy among them, both for those who were far and those who were near. Acts 11:28-30, And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar. Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea: Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul. 1 Corinthians 16:1-2. Now, concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gathering when I come.2Corinthians 8:1-4, Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia; How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality. For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves; praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints. Denominationalism of the churches of Christ today should not blind our eyes to the fact that we all belong to one body. we need to pray for the power to protect and care for one another. True churches of Christ must care for one another without denominational restrictions. The churches of Christ in the apostolic era cared for one another. Churches which faced hardship were supported to protect the faith of the believers. This same spirit is required today.
Thought for the day: The liberal soul shall be made fat: he that watered shall be watered himself,
Song for the day: I give myself away, so you can use me, I give myself away…
Bible reading for the day: Deuteronomy 33-34; Luke 1:24-56

August Tuesday 27th TOPIC: CORRECT WATER BAPTISM TEXT: Mark 16:15-16 KEY VERSE: Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. The believer requires water baptism. The baptism that Jesus commanded is in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. It is done by immersion in water because the three Persons are One. In Acts of the Apostles, the people were baptizing in the name of Jesus. They used the phrase “in the name of Jesus” to indicate that the baptism was carried out as authorized by Jesus, and the baptism authorized by Jesus is that which is done in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. It is not to say that they dip people in water and say, “I baptize you in the name of Jesus.” The name of Jesus cannot represent the Godhead. The Father is not Jesus, the Holy Spirit is not Jesus, Jesus is God who be

April Monday 27th TOPIC: TESTIMONY OF RESTITUTION OF FALSIFIED RECORDS by Sis Bosede Ogwurike TEXT: 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 KEY VERSE: Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. After accepting the Lord Jesus as my Lord and personal Saviour as a young girl I so much enjoyed the Lord, but at a particular time in my life I entangled myself with so many sins: fornication, abortions, misconduct in two of my undergraduate examination papers, falsification of age, falsification of results in my undergraduate research project and other sins that later required restitution. This created a big vacuum in my life. I no longer enjoyed the presence of God as before and sometimes when I prayed for restoration and revival, I would hear a voice clearly in my spirit saying, “Go and report yourself.” This I did not
