CERTAINTY OF CHRIST’S RETURN WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 1 TEXT: GENESIS 7: 1-12 Key verse: ‘’For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first’’ 1Thessalonians 4:16 The Lord is coming. It is a reality. The trumpet shall soon blow. Make sure you are in the ark of truth, righteousness and holiness. Be in the family of truth, righteousness and holiness. The Lord is coming to judge the ungodly world. Jude: 14-15 ‘’And Enoch also the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints. To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.’’ The Lord is coming with judgment upon all these people who have hardened themselves agains

PERSONAL EVANGELISM TUESDAY JANUARY 31 TEXT: MATTHEW 9:35-38, JOHN 4:5-29 Key verse: “Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest” Matthew 9:38. Personal evangelism is the art of person-to-person sharing of the gospel of Christ with sinners, with the aim of leading them to salvation. The primary purpose of Christ’s coming into the world was to die for the salvation of man. He came to seek and to save the lost. He used different approaches to reach different people; With Nicodemus, Christ used a direct approach: “Ye must be born again.”With the Samaritan woman, He used an indirect approach: “Give me to drink.”With the woman caught in adultery, He used a situational approach. Jesus reached out to His twelve disciples whom He called apostles through personal evangelism. No other business should thrill the heart of a believer than personal evangelism. Winning the lost is a task that must be do

BIBLICAL TEACHING ON CHRISTIAN DRESSING MONDAY JANUARY 30 TEXT: 2TIMOTHY 2:19-21, 1TIMOTHY 2:8-10 Key verse: “Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God” 2 Corinthians 7:1. When a person is born again he is to be taught all things the Lord commanded us in the Scripture. Not all preachers of the gospel bother about the outward appearance of a believer. But holiness cannot be achieved without freedom from worldliness in physical appearance. Biblical teaching on Christian dressing is not for everyone, but for those professing godliness, who seek to be holy. This teaching is aimed at raising holy men and women for God in these last days, to present a Church without spot or wrinkle to Christ at His second coming. Founding fathers of many Christian assemblies taught against the use of Jewelry in Christian dressing, in the light of

HELL AND DESTRUCTION ARE NEVER FULL AND SATISFIED SUNDAY JANUARY 29 TEXT: DEUTERONOMY 22:5, 1TIMOTHY 2:9 Key verse: “Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied” Proverbs 27:20. Let us consider the sad case of a lost soul, Rubiella. “We continued downward and then stopped abruptly, like an elevator. I saw several tunnels; and we went through the tunnel where people were hanging off of hooks by their heads, with shackles on their wrists. Millions of people were hanging on it. They had worms all over their bodies. I looked ahead and saw that there was another wall, exactly the same as the other. I said to the Lord, ‘Lord! There are so many people in this place!’ Instantly, a scripture verse entered my mind; one that I did not recognize. The Lord told me, Hell and destruction are never full, Proverbs 27:20. We left there and soon arrived at a place we called, The Valley of the cauldrons, and we got close to o

ADOPTION OF CHILDREN SATURDAY JANUARY 28 TEXT: ROMANS 8: 15-17 Key Verse: "For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father" (Romans 8: 15) Adoption means to accept or claim ownership or parenthood of a child that is not directly your biological child and make the child enjoy the benefits of parenthood through out his life. Adoption is good and acceptable in the sight of God. We were not children of God but He made us to become part of His family, not through the natural process of human conception, but through adoption. God's only begotten son is Jesus Christ, but because we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, God is now pleased with us to make us become the sons of God. We were not children but God has made us children and Jesus is not ashamed to call us his brethren. And God has put His Spirit in us, the same
PURSUE NOT AFTER RICHES AND HUMAN GREATNESS FRIDAY JANUARY 27 TEXT: JAMES 4:13-15 Key verse: “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon” Matthew 6:24. Do not serve money or riches; instead serve the Lord your God. Do not share your service between money and God, instead cleave to God and serve only Him. Do not abandon the worship of God in the church. Do not abandon your Bible study, devotional life and prayer due to lack of time for spiritual things or because of the pressure of riches. Remain attached to your Bible, to prayer and fellowship of the brethren. Do not associate closely with the rich and great men of this world. Do not seek identification and friendship with the rich and great men of this world. They do not know Jesus. Their ways are not righteous. Many of them have sold their souls to Satan. They will certainly corrupt you and destroy your faith

VICTORY OVER THE POWERS OF DARKNESS THURSDAY JANUARY 26 TEXT: LUKE 10:17-20, EPHESIANS 6:10-18 Key verse: “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God” Ephesians 6:17. The powers of darkness refers to: the power of the enemy, the power of evil spirits or demon spirits, principalities and powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, powers of witches and wizards, powers of occult, magic, spiritualists, etc.. Our Lord Jesus Christ defeated Satan and overcame all these powers of darkness. He prevailed and triumphed over them in life, in death and in His resurrection. Through Him every believer has been given the promise and guarantee for victory over all the powers of darkness. The Lord has promised total victory over all powers of darkness to every one of His children. No believer in Christ should be a victim to these conquered foes. Satan knows that Christ has defeated him. And when believers ab

APPROPRIATE PLACE TO GIVE WEDNESDAY JANUARY 25 TEXT: MATTHEW 13:3-9 Key verse: “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way…”Matthew 7:13. Our text for today reveals four types of ground that receive the seed of God’s word. Three are bad grounds and only one is good ground. You are a sower who has money and material resources to sow into the gospel of Christ Jesus. The Lord Himself is telling you that not all grounds are good for sowing, if you desire a harvest. If you are born again and know the true teaching of the word of God, you are living a holy life, you are determined to enter heaven, you are waiting for the rapture of the saints which shall take place soonest, you are sorrowful for the doom hanging over sinners around you and in the world, you are grieved over the state of the church today, backslidden and lukewarm, you long for the revival of true Christianity in your community and in the world, yo

ETERNAL REWARDS AWAITS THE FAITHFUL TUESDAY JANUARY 24 TEXT: JOHN 4:34-38, 9:4-5 Key verse: “…My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work” John 4:34. A faithful missionary worked fourty years in Africa and lost his wife in the mission field. He became very old and was going back to America aboard the same ship with an Army General who visited Africa for just two weeks. As they arrived at America, he saw a crowd of people at the shore and exclaimed, Oh! My home church has gathered people to welcome me after my labour in Africa. He was very joyful, but was later dissappointed. The General came out first from the ship and left with the crowd. When he came out and saw that not a single person remained to welcome him, he became confused and sad. After much thought, he remembered the contact number of an old friend. He called him on phone and thank God the man hurriedly came with his wife to welcome the mission

MINISTRY OF THE WORD MONDAY JANUARY 23 TEXT: ACTS 11:25-26 Key verse: “And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified” Acts 20:32. When the word of God is richly preached and taught, members of the congregation will have the knowledge of the word, the knowledge of the living God in His Trinity: the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. The hearing of God's word gives faith for salvation, sanctification, baptism with the Holy Spirit and other blessings of the gospel. Great are the benefits of the word of God in our lives. Psalm 119:130. The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. Psalm 19:7, 11: 7. The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. 11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping

THEY THAT SOW IN TEARS SHALL REAP IN JOY SUNDAY JANUARY 22 TEXT: PSALMS 126: 5-6 Key verse: “The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself” Proverbs 11: 25. He that is committed to financial and material assistance of the church, minister, Christian leader, the poor and needy, to facilitate the conversion and spiritual growth of the lost, and establishment in the Christian faith is doing a great service to God. God has promised to make such a person fat in the blessings of God and water him in dry and hard times. The Lord shall take good and tender care of him in this life. There are some kinds of giving that are costly and painful. Such was the kind Christ did when He gave Himself for us on the cross. He cried with a loud voice due to pain and agony. But such cry and pains turned to great joy and gladness afterward because of the bounty harvest of sheaves. To some, the amount involved in their tit

PERSIST IN FAITH AND PRAYER SATURDAY JANUARY 21 TEXT: MARK 11:23-25 Key verse: “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son” Colossians 1:13. The believer is to look to Jesus and set His victory before him, believe always that he has been made free in Christ, confess his liberty, walk by faith, keep himself in obedience to the word of God and walk in righteousness and holiness. Jesus is to be upheld by the church. His victory over Satan should constantly be celebrated by the church. His praise and worship as Lord of lords and King of kings should fill our prayer, exhortation and sermons. Alas, it is not so in many churches today. Instead of Christ-consciousness there is Satan-consciousness in many Christian circles and in the ministry of many preachers. Believers are made to fear and respect Satan above God. To such it looks as if the victory of Jesus over Satan was not compl

FRIDAY JANUARY 20 TEXT: ACTS 4: 19-20 Key verse: “Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, we ought to obey God rather than men” Acts 5:29. If a leader is fallen into sin, error or gone into false doctrine, make good and wise effort to reprove him and restore him to truth. If he refuses to repent, withdraw from him or seek his removal from leadership position, depending on the situation and the administrative pattern. Never consider the sin or evil doctrine of your unrepentant leaders as a small thing. It shall damn your souls to hell! You are not sold to a leader but to Christ. The leader who has turned away from Christ must be abandoned as expired drugs. James 5:19-20 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins. Titus 3:10-11A man that

PURITY OF A FAITHFUL CHURCH THURSDAY JANUARY 19 TEXT: REVELATION 3:7-13 Key verse: “I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and has kept my word, and hast not denied my name” Revelation 3:8. The church in Philadelphia received commendation and encouragement without any blame from Christ. He who is holy and true did not see anything unholy or untrue in their midst. The righteous, impartial judge was so pleased with that church that all He had for them was greater privilege of more usefulness in ministry. The compromise and corruption found in other churches were not found in the church in Philadelphia. The decline of the first love, the inroad of idolatry and immorality through the corrupting influence of Jezebel, the deception of the doctrine and deeds of Balaam and the Nicolaitanes, association and interaction with false world religions, compromise and tolera

A PLACE OF GLOOMY DARKNESS WEDNESDAY JANUARY 18 TEXT: LUKE 16:19-31 Key verse:“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions” Joel 2:28. The Bible is very clear about the subject of heaven and hell. There is no intermediate place, purgatory or Limbo does not exist. “While we were in that gloomy darkness, we were so scared! We were so afraid that we said to the Lord, “Lord we don’t want to go to that place! The Lord answered us with beautiful and compassionate voice, ‘This experience is necessary so you can see and tell others. ’We noticed a terrible smell and a heat that choked us. The entire place was engulfed in flames; and in the middle of these flames, there were bodies of thousands of people. We didn’t want to see what was shown to us. HOLINESS AND RIGHTEOUSNESS TUESDAY JANUARY 17 TEXT: 1 THESSALONIANS 2:10-13 Key verse: “And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and towards men” Acts 24:16. One of the often quoted scripture when Holiness is mention is in Hebrews 12:14, Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord. Some still believe that no one can be holy. They do not understand the full implication of scriptures that exhort on living in holiness and righteousness. How will you appear before Heaven and discover that you still have a little sin in you which will hinder you entrance into the kingdom of God? It is possible to live holy all the days of your life. In 1Thesslonians 2:10, Ye are witnesses and God also, how holy and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe. PRAY FOR MINISTERS OF THE GOSPEL MONDAY JANUARY 16 TEXT: 1TIMOTHY 2: 1-4 Key verse: “Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way” 1 Samuel 12:23. Ministers need to be prayed for according to the will of God. Pray for your leaders that God may give them sufficient grace and wisdom for their work. Satan exerts great force against them to cause them to sin, go into error, compromise and backsliding to the hurt of those they lead. Pray for their continual victory and success in leadership. Hebrews 13:17-18 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you. Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly. Leaders are men like you that can be fright

THE WORD OF GOD SUNDAY JANUARY 15 TEXT: JEREMIAH 28:15-17, REVELATION 22:18-19 Key verse: “Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him” Proverb 30:5. Every word of God is pure, free from any mixture of error and falsehood. Every of its promises, doctrine, commandment, and prophecy is pure; every one of them is free from the mixtures and inventions of men. Our attitude while reading or hearing God’s word depends on whether or not you accept it as the infallible verdict of God, full and final in its declarations. God’s word is supreme to all the opinions and ideologies of men. Any addition or subtraction contaminates its declared purity and opens the way to errors and corruptions. The scripture retains its life-changing face and mighty power only when preached and believed in its pure, unadulterated form. As gold loses some value when mixed with dross so the word of God becomes of none effect, powerless

THE DIGNITY OF THE WOMAN SATURDAY JANUARY 14 TEXT: GENESIS 1:27-31 Key verse: “Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands” Proverbs 14:1. The woman was created together with the man by God for His pleasure and to fulfill His Divine purpose. Both the woman and the man are to enjoy the glory of God in their lives. But iniquity caused the glory of God to depart from her as well as from the man. Through the sacrificial death of Jesus, any woman who believes in Christ enjoys restoration to God’s glory and regains the dignity of womanhood. God’s ways and works are perfect. Whatsoever He makes, He makes it perfectly. He created the woman good, perfect and built in glorious qualities into her that made her dignified, these include the following; God made her a good thing, She was made an object of love to man, She was made a person of honour and dignity, She is prudent and wise, She was made virtuous, she

A TESTIMONY OF HEAVEN AND HELL FRIDAY JANUARY 13 TEXT: EXODUS 35:4, 5, 20-35 Key verse: “He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse” Proverbs 28:27. The following is an excerpt from Pastor Yong Park’s testimony of near death experience: “My beloved brethren, I was a conservative Presbyterian pastor who ignored such testimonies as this. But now I must witness and testify to you what I have seen. Please, do not hesitate to live a holy life. Avoid this miserable torment and judgment of hell. Do not live for your flesh; submit to Jesus Christ. IN HEAVEN, the angel escorted me to the place where the saints lived in nice homes. DON’T PRAY FOR YOUR ENEMIES TO DIE THURSDAY JANUARY 12 TEXT: LUKE 9: 54-56 Key verse: “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved” John 3:17. There are those who pray that God should kill their enemies. They desire all their human enemies, all witches and wizards to die, to be judged and killed. Some quote a passage in the Old Testament which says, Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live. Exodus 22:18. This command was to Israel, a nation of God and not to the church which is a small segment of people living in the world filled with all types of sinners. Jesus showed clearly that this command should not be adopted by New Testament believers. The Pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery to Jesus and demanded that she be stoned to death according to the law, Jesus said, he that was without sin among them should be the first to cast a stone at her, John 8:1-12. Key verse: "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" Isaiah 8:20. God has given revelations to many in our days and He is still in the business of doing that. The choice of these messengers is His sovereign will. Some of these revelations are written in books for all to read and some are shared verbally. There are scriptural facts to be understood on these revelation messages. They follow the pattern of scriptural revelations in the Holy Bible. Some are given in plain, simple and direct language, while some are given in pictorial language and figures of speech. The recipient of the revelation may be an ignorant person whose understanding is unfruitful, hence, he may not be capable to interpret the revelation received. Evangelism was the main duty of Jesus when He came to the earth and it is His great commission to His disciples. Let’s remember those souls under satanic captivity and oppression in our evangelism. Those delivered should testify of Jesus salvation to others. The recipients of God’s mercy should be followed up by evangelism. Those who have received the salvation and blessings of God should submit their lives to the Savior. The Samaritan woman was of another opinion as far as the worship of God was concerned. Jesus opened up a discussion with the Samaritan woman, He flashed the mirror of God’s word at her and the Spirit of God convicted her of her sin. He presented Himself to her as the Christ and she believed immediately and led the city to Jesus. We should seek to pres

MINISTRATION AND INSPIRATION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT SUNDAY JANUARY 8 TEXT: ACTS 16: 6-10 Key verse: “Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come” John 16:13. The church is not a man's personal possession and so should not be handled by the human leader as thought it were his personal property. To raise up a holy and spiritually balanced congregation the minister in charge must learn the wise use of the resources God has provided for the spiritual well being of His flock. These include righteous and holy men whom He has endowed with spiritual gifts and calling and the inspired gospel materials produced by them. The minister must prayerfully and wisely employ the services of these men, and their materials should be put to appropriate use for the edification of the church, without denominational fear, inhibitions, biases or bigotry. The souls of those in the Assembly are precious; hence their spiritual wellbeing and eternal life must be the main focus and preoccupation of the church and her ministers. The Word of God or the Scripture refers primarily to the written word contained in the 66 Books of the Holy Bible. This was written by the perfect inspiration of the Holy Spirit and is error free. It is the authority for all Christian doctrine and practice. It is the basis of our faith and hope and the bound of true obedience, love and service. However, the Lord manifests His word to us through spiritual gifts which are still valid in the church today. Holy Spirit inspired prophecies or revelations are equally the word of God which should be received and obeyed by those they are directed to. God also manifests His word to us through dreams, visions, trance, audible voice, inward voice and inward impression. John 16:13 “Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come”. Holy Spirit inspired prophecies or revelations are equally the word of God which should be received. Always Seek to minister by the leading of the Holy Spirit. Thought for the day: Spirit inspired prophecies and revelations are equally the word of God. Song for the day: Touch me one more time oh Lord (2x) I need a touch from the Master. . . THE TRUTH ABOUT HELL FRIDAY JANUARY 6 TEXT: ULKE 16: 19-31 Key Verse: “And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.” Luke 12: 4-5 Various people have various beliefs about hell. Some say God is too good and too merciful to put man in hell. There are some people and some religions that teach that when man dies he goes to the grave and remains there. While some other religions also believe that hell is a temporary place of torment where God puts disobedient children and after a time brings them out, but will not leave them there eternally. But the question is does hell really exist? What does the bible say about hell? The fact that, many people have diverse beliefs about the reality of hell will not change the truth of God abou

And they straightway left their nets, and followed him” Matthew 4: 19-20. All believers are given one or more gifts to minister in the service of God. God distributes these gifts to His Children according to His will. Every believer should trade with his gift of grace. However, there is special calling into special function and office which God gives to whom He wills. No man takes this honour to himself. The things of God are not carnal but spiritual. It is God that calls to the office of an apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, and teacher. It is God that knows and calls people to be General overseer over Churches and ministries. Hence ministerial office is not to be attained to by desire, but by Biblical qualifications and Divine call. God equips His ministers with spiritual gifts for e

And all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting up their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshipped the LORD with their faces to the ground” Nehemiah 8:6. ... This scriptural account gives us a good understanding of worship activities in a religious congregation in Israel. This is similar to the pattern of worship activities in the New Testament church. The congregation came together for the purpose of hearing the word of God. Their activity centred on the word of God. Here Ezra the priest was the pastor of the congregation, having other elders and workers in his support, the word was read to the congregation of both men and women, who listened attentively to it, Ezra led the people in a period of praise and worship of God: he b
